Karen Dietz Interiors is a full service design company. We have been serving the San Antonio community since 1999. The merchandising of model homes and working side by side with San Antonio builders is at the head of our business. However, we offer a variety of services including new home surface selections, remodeling, custom draperies, faux finishes, space planning, furniture selection and much, much more. KAREN
Owner & Interior Designer
This award-winning designer is proud to celebrate 23 years in business, serving the building and private clientele communities in the San Antonio area. After receiving her degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A & M University, she found her true passion in interior design and pursued an education at St. Mary’s University. From there, she has worked in many capacities in the design realm starting her career at a local design firm and moving onto managing the design center of a prestigious homebuilder and finally owner and designer at KD Interiors. Karen is an Allied ASID member as well as belonging to the Greater San Antonio Area Builders Association, Texas Builders Association and National Association of Home Builders. She is dedicated to excellent design with outstanding customer service.
KELSEY
Interior Designer
Kelsey was born and raised in the small town of Seguin, Texas, home of the world’s largest pecan. After graduating high school, she moved to San Antonio to pursue a career in interior design and isn’t turning back! She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design. In her experience, Kelsey has found a passion for the building selection process and getting to see the home come to life from start to finish. She thrives on customer service and ensuring the clients' vision and expectations are not only met but exceeded.
CRYSTAL
Interior Designer
Crystal, an Austin-ite that was won over by San Antonios culture has created a home in the beautiful city. But before the vibrant colors and delicious tacos were revealed, her interior design journey started soon after high school. Crystal's mom had her own stone installation business so she'd find herself helping her mom select countertops for a builder. Not long after, that turned into helping select paint, lighting, and other finishes. Fast forward to 2018, she graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word where she received her Bachelor in Interior Design. Since then, Crystal has worked on an array of projects including residential and hospitality. She loves that the evolving industry makes everything feel fresh and always presents a new challenge. She loves to bring a vision to life and build (no pun intended) new customer relationships.

SHELLY
Shelly grew up in Waco, TX and had a passion for design from a young age. She attended the University of North Texas where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design. She started her career in restaurant design, construction, and project management. Her genuine love of home and family ultimately led her to residential design and KDI. She loves helping clients create comfortable, inviting, and timeless spaces that their families can enjoy.

MICHAELA
Operations Manager
Michaela, an Illinois native has worked as an Operations and Project Coordination Professional for over 6 years, gaining experience in a variety of settings with a variety of people. She has been in Austin since 2016 and is proud to call Texas her home. She enjoys collaborating with vendors, peers, and clients to achieve maximum project outcomes from start to finish. Being introduced to the interior design field has given her a new passion for helping the KDI designers create beautiful spaces for their clients and homeowners.
Sylke has been in the home furnishings, lighting and accessory business for over 25 years. She has always had a passion for designing spaces, whether that was merchandising retail spaces, working in the furniture industry, or helping residential clients with remodels. She took her passion and knowledge of the industry and expanded it by completing the St. Mary’s University Design Program, specializing in residential and commercial design. While working in the design industry Sylke realized her passion was for window coverings and treatments. She puts her clients’ needs first and will suggest window treatments according to your personal preferences, taking into consideration directional sunlight, glare issues, dual functioning spaces, pets, children, and your budget. From Custom Shutters, Blinds, Hunter Douglas products, Drapery and Soft treatments, Sylke will fit window coverings to your budget and style whether that would be Contemporary, Modern Urban, Traditional, Transitional, Old World, Hill Country, Rustic or a combination of these. Sylke is an Allied member of the American Society of Interior Design (ASID) and Hunter Douglas Certified.
